Via Ghost of a Flea, a cartoon of the psychopathic cult killer Muhammad and his wife, Aisha. This cartoon was posted around Malmo, Sweden, as a part of a call to halt the growing Islamic influence on Swedish culture. See this article from Islam in Europe. It says the caption on the cartoon reads, “Mohammed with wife, he’s 53, she’s 9. Is this the type of marriage we want to see in Skåne?”

Osama bin Laden’s communiqués have also quoted the Koran copiously. In his 1996 “Declaration of War against the Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Places,” he quotes seven Koran verses: 3:145; 47:4-6; 2:154; 9:14; 47:19; 8:72; and the notorious “Verse of the Sword,” 9:5. Bin Laden began his October 6, 2002, letter to the American people with two Koran quotations, both of a martial bent: “Permission to fight (against disbelievers) is given to those (believers) who are fought against, because they have been wronged and surely, Allah is Able to give them (believers) victory” (22:39) and “Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of Taghut (anything worshipped other than Allah e.g. Satan). So fight you against the friends of Satan; ever feeble is indeed the plot of Satan” (4:76).”

And Khan is a leading board member of the Islamic Society of North America — the main Wahhabi-lobby group in the United States, established by Saudi Arabia to impose extremism on American Muslims. ISNA has a long and disgraceful record of promoting radical Islam.

Here’s the problem: it’s cover-ups, misdirection, and denial like the Chronicle engages that will eventually result in exactly the kind of “backlash” they claim to be trying to head off.
The NYPost gets it more right:
Confronting the role of radical Islam here is not Islamophobic, but common sense — and the first response moderate Muslims themselves will have.
“More right”, because the only way to ensure that moderate Muslims confront radical Islam, and pull it out by the roots, is to make America a very uncomfortable place for Muslims generally as part of the aftermath of incidents like Ft. Hood.
Let me point out that I believe the overwhelming majority of American Muslims to be “moderate”, i.e., non-observant or minimally observant, about on par with most American Christians.
However, we absolutely must hold the moderates responsible for the actions of the jihadists sheltering among them.
They should be every bit as afraid as the rest of us should be. Coddling them, and their viper brethren, is close to suicide.

He did not found Islam as a religion of peace, but as an ideological cult of hatred and violence that aims to control every tiniest aspect of its followers’ lives. His followers, those who have studied and accepted his writings at face value (as opposed to those who have merely adopted the trappings and rituals as a source of comfort and order in their own lives) mean to convert, enslave, or destroy all non-Muslims; the very word “islam” means “submit”. Jews are singled out in his religious writings and sayings as deserving special hatred. Mohammad specifically asserted that Jesus was not the Son of God, but merely another prophet, inferior to himself.
As always, it matters not a lick whether those statements are true or not, although I certainly believe they are true. What matters is that I have the absolute right to make those statements. If you don’t like it, please feel free to say so in my comments.

Mind you, he is speaking of a religion which routinely inspires its followers to burn girls’ schools, sometimes with the girls still in them, and which works to see that even boys’ schools teach little but the rote memorization of the Koran.
Although some religious teaching seems to be no impediment — Catholic schools are renowned for the quality of their education — no country has prospered where the schools emphasize religion to the exclusion of verifiable fact.
He is also speaking of the religion which has been unremittingly and violently hostile to Hinduism, India’s majority religion. Note that since Judaism and Christianity are the theological roots of Islam, it allows Christians and Jews to practice their infidel superstitions, as long as they keep quiet about it, don’t build new temples or repair old ones, and pay the special jizya tax; but no such tolerance is granted to Hindus.

Oren, in a comment at VC, links to the relevant clause in the Indian Constitution. It’s a handful of words outlining the rights — followed by a dense page of exceptions.
Look at how our government manages to pick at the very plainly stated rights given in the Bill of Rights (of course, with a special emphasis on the Second, where “shall not be infringed” has somehow morphed into “except as lawmakers and bureaucrats see fit).
Now imagine what happens when the exceptions have greater weight than the rights themselves.
Irrefutable, of course, for anyone who believes in numerology, or who believes that when you see a horsey in the clouds, it’s because Allah sculpted it as proof of his existence.
I like it that early on, they use “God” instead of “Allah”, and “submission” instead of “Islam”. At first glance, it could be a Christian site.
